Square sections belong to a shaped-tubing specification
ASTM A554 addresses welded stainless steel mechanical tubing and includes square, rectangular, round and special sections. A square-section enquiry therefore needs side dimensions, wall and corner geometry rather than a round-pipe size alone.

Specify the square section and corner geometry
For a square stainless steel section, state the outside side dimension and wall thickness, then add corner requirements and dimensional tolerances. Define cut length, finish and joining needs for fabrication. If the section will carry a design load, the project engineer should identify the required material and structural acceptance criteria.
